Chair Drill

Thought Process:

keep your back foot on the chair as you rotate and create tension across your body into the release of the baseballĀ

Movement Prescription:

players who lose their back foot anchors, rotate poorly from the middle of the body, back leg rotates before the hips, chest folds, arm drags, elbow leads, head pulls off

Feels/Cues:

turn in a telephone booth, right shoulder to the wall, throw it from deep, get across your body, get around your lead hip, stand up tall, slap your butt

Common Compensations:

sinking into lead leg, shifting weight forward instead of rotating, folding like a chair, rotating before the arm is upĀ
